entreAmigos has prepared a week full of activities to learn everything about the Day of the Dead. Join us in San Francisco (San Pancho), Nayarit, in this unique Mexican celebration of life!
Day of the Dead - History and Significance
On Monday, October 29, at 6:00 pm, entreaAmigos Spanish School presents the first of a series of amazing cultural events.
July Aquino will share with us the history behind this exceptional Mexican ritual, the meaning of all the elements involved, and how to make our own altar.
Day of the Dead in Pictures
This will continue the presentation on October 29 at 7:00 pm. Photographer Tara Gimmer will share with us her vision of this her vision of this traditional day. Enjoy extraordinary images captured by Tara in Patzcuaro and different places of Mexico.
Children Art Workshop: Papel Picado
Tuesday, October 30, at 3:00 pm, kids will make colorful decorations for our Day of the Dead ceremony and understand what they represent in the day of the dead altar.
Cooking Class: Make your own Pan de Muertos
On Wednesday, October 31, at 2:00 pm, learn how to make this delicious and ancestral Mexican dessert with Estibaliz at entreamigos kitchen. Children and adults are welcome!
1st Annual entreAmigos Altar Contest
On Thursday, November 1, at 12:00 noon, make your altar with entreAmigos. Be a part of our Day of the Dead celebration, create your altar and share it with the community... a once in a lifetime experience!
All altars will be posted on entreAmigos website and facebook page. Share it with friends and family, the altar that gets more likes will receive a special treat from entreAmigos!
Day of the Dead Celebration, in Loving Memory of Richard Lamping
On Thursday, November 1, at 8:00 pm, entreAmigos is dedicating this Day of the Dead celebration to the life of a beloved friend: Richard Lamping.
Richard, a longtime resident of San Pancho, known to young and old. We will miss his smiles along main street and his huichol bag ready for a day at the beach. A lover of this tropical paradise and the culture of this community. We will miss him; he will stay in our hearts.
See all the altars and share with us some pan de muerto and chocolate at entreamigos.
