Teaser – Surf Open Acapulco 2014 (Visita Acapulco)

The 4-Star Surf Open Acapulco crowned Luke Davis (USA) its 2014 champion in flawless two-to-four-foot surf at Playa Revolcadero, Acapulco, Mexico. This marks Davis’ first ever ASP Qualifying Series (QS) victory.

The San Clemente native opened his campaign in the Final with an impressive 8.00 when he tore apart a long righthander, launching two different airs to start and finish the wave. Later in the heat, Luke put together another solid ride, bringing his two-wave total to 15.97. While sitting in the pole position the entire heat, Davis was in his best form looking smooth and relaxed.

Davis receives 1,000 ratings points, putting him in good standing on the QS rankings going into the Vans U.S. Open of Surfing, where he hopes to carry this momentum straight into another good result.
