Thanks to your support, Ayoreo Indians in Paraguay have gained title to part of their ancestral land. But Brazilian beef company Yaguarete Pora S.A. is illegally destroying forest inhabited by the last remaining uncontacted Ayoreo, and contributing to the fastest rate of deforestation in the world.
The Ayoreo need your help at this critical time.
Please write to the Paraguayan government, urging it to stop Yaguarete’s rapid destruction of the Ayoreo’s forest home, and return the land to its rightful owners.
You can use this text to send an email to Senator Llano and Senator Alberto Wagner at bllano@senado.gov.py; wagner@senado.gov.py
Dear Senator Llano and Senator Alberto Wagner,
I urge you to uphold the Ayoreo's right to their ancestral land in the Paraguayan Chaco.
Beef company Yaguarete Pora S.A. is destroying the Ayoreo's last refuge in the Chaco, an area now known to have the "fastest rate of deforestation in the world."
It is the government's duty to transfer land to its indigenous owners, and failure to do so violates the Ayoreo's rights under Paraguayan and international laws.
Please stop Yaguarete Pora S.A. from further devastating the Ayoreo's forest, and return the land to its rightful owners.
If you have a few minutes, please write your own message. This is much more powerful.
If your email bounces, it's probably because the recipient has blocked their account due to the high number of protest emails. It means the campaign is working.
Thank you - Survival International
