MEXICO CITY – Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto said this week that his country cannot in the 21st century permit violence against women and noted the efforts his government is making to eradicate this evil.
On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Peña Nieto inaugurated a justice center for women in Hidalgo state.
He said his government is working so that all states in the country will establish specialized justice centers for women.
With the one in Hidalgo, there are now “16 centers that offer comprehensive service for women to break the cycle of violence,” Peña Nieto said.
