The Colombian writer Gabriel García Márquez (1927-2014), winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature, leads this week's list of the 10 best-selling authors in Mexico, with his novel One Hundred Years of Solitude, about an imaginary town called Macondo, and the story of Aureliano Buendía.
According to the Library Gandhi, one of the leaders of Mexico, which reports weekly on securities demanded by Mexican readers, García Márquez is imposed in the first place.
On April 17, 2014 he died in Mexico, at 87 years, considered by experts as one of the major figures of magical realism.
Among the works written by Gabo, as he was also known, also protrude The Autumn of the Patriarch, Love in the Time of Cholera, Chronicle of a Death Foretold and No One Writes to the Colonel.
