Cruzando la Baja MTB 2015 PROMO OFICIAL (cosssio)
This is one of the newest races in Ensenada, which was born out of a trip among friends and has become the challenge of "Crossing the Baja Mountain Bike 2015."
René Barrera, director of the event, announced that the competition will be on May 1 through May 4, and will cover 110 kilometers (69 miles) through the Baja California desert, from Playa Altamira to Bahía de los Ángeles, crossing from one side to the other of the peninsula.
The competition is an eco-tourism event and the goal is that people from other parts of the world who practice advanced mountain biking see the beautiful landscapes south of Ensenada, which combines the beauty of the desert with the attractive coastal zones.
He said that all along the course will be hydration stations, there will be surveillance stations and a life insurance policy for each person who participates.
For his part, the president of the Ensenada Mountain Bike Club, Álvaro Meza, said that this challenge is aimed mainly at cyclists with experience and in good physical condition, as the roads are rough and the course is long.
He reported that the fee for the event is 800 pesos or US$55 dollars, which includes hydration stations, technical service, course sweeping, rescue, a party at the goal line, shirts and trophys.
Finally, he added that for more information those interested can go the Cruzando la Baja MTB website, or send an email to cruzandolabajamtb@gmail.com.
