Robotix Faire Introduces Mexican Kids to Technology

Competencias, makers, conferencias, drones y más en RobotiX Faire 2015 (SoyRobotiX)

Demonstrations of drone flights, a robot exhibition and interactive workshops are some of the attractions at the Robotix Faire in the Expositions and Congresses Center of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, or UNAM, which aims to bring technology closer to children.

The 9th Robotix Faire held this weekend is the biggest expo of robotics, science and technology ever organized for children and young people in Mexico, the National Science and Technology Council, or Conacyt, said in a communique.

A national robotics competition on the first day of the fair has 288 contestants grouped in 96 teams from each and every state in the nation taking part.

Also expected to participate were more than 400 teams and 1,200 contestants from the Federal District and the Mexico City metropolitan area.

...The organization estimated that the three-day event will attract approximately 30,000 visitors.
