Eighteen-year-old Mariana Elizabeth Yaz has been missing since September 2014. Guadalupe Reyes says her daughter is a victim of gender violence in Mexico.

The State of Mexico - where Reyes lives - and the central state of Morelos have declared gender alerts because of the high rate of violent acts against women.

More than 1700 women have been killed since 2005. An equal number has simply disappeared.
