The federal government reported that charges for electricity will increase up to 5% due to some adjustments, starting in September.
The Secretary of Finance announced changes in the formula in the Official Journal of Mexico, which determine the fees for industrial, commercial and residential high consumption users.
The director of the Center for Energy Technology of Monterrey, Armando Llamas, predicted that the increase will be 5%.
Four of the five combustibles used by the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) to generate electric energy have increased in cost, which caused the increase in the prices users pay.
According to specialist Ramsés Pech, the changes are because most of the imports of fuels are priced in dollars.
