Microsoft Offering $50,000 to 10 Charities in Mexico Nominated on Social Media Microsoft.com

Microsoft is marking the Windows 10 launch by celebrating people and organizations who upgrade the world every day – and by helping them do even more. They are partnering with 10 global and 100 local nonprofits to help them upgrade the world. (Windows)

Upgrade Your World asks people to nominate a charity in Mexico using Twitter, Instagram or Facebook by using the hashtags #UpgradeYourWorldMX and #voto.

“Is there a local nonprofit in your community that’s working to upgrade the world?”, asks Microsoft. “Microsoft is supporting nonprofits who are improving their world in these 10 countries — Australia, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, the United Kingdom and the United States. Ten organizations in each country will receive cash investments of $50,000 and technology. We’ve found our first five, but need your help to select the remaining five nonprofits in each country.”

FONABEC, Fundación Cinépolis, Fundacion Michou y Mau I.A.P., Reforestamos México, Un Kilo de Ayuda, and Ayúdanos a Elegir are the five that have been selected by Microsoft in Mexico. To be eligible for the donation, an organization must have a registered account on Twitter, have charitable status in its own country and a mission to benefit a local community.

Voting closes on September 23rd and the winners will be announced on October 1st.
