Mexico consumer confidence strengthened slightly in September after weakening in the previous two months, figures from the statistical office INEGI showed Tuesday.
The consumer confidence index rose to 90.6 from August's 90.4, which was the lowest since February. Economists had expected a higher score of 91.4.
Households' view on their personal economic situation weakened for a second straight month, with the index falling to a seven-month low of 97.7.
Their assessment of their economic situation in 12 months dropped for a third consecutive month to 98, the lowest level since July last year.
Consumers were less pessimistic regarding both the current and future economic situation in the country.
