Big cats: The cartel seems to own plenty of dangerous wild animals as pets (Facebook)

A Facebook account supposedly belonging to the son of Mexican drugs baron 'El Chapo' gives insight into the extreme world of the feared cartels.

The social media page, that appears to belong to Ivan Guzman, the 32-year-old son of Joaquin 'El-Chapo' Guzman, is filled with images of weapons, sports cars and exotic animals including big cats.

News site Vocativ screen-shot several images from the page and while its authenticity could not be independently verified- they claim that much of the account's postings are consistent with cartel activity.

There are several images of wild animals, including young lions and tigers.
