Communications giant AT&T announced Friday it would respond to Hurricane Patricia by giving phone customers a break.

The company said it would not charge additional fees for text messages or international calls on AT&T phones from the United States, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands to Mexico.

AT&T said the break would apply to all calls and texts made by wireless customers, including GoPhone prepaid wireless customers, as well as to direct-dial calls made by AT&T land phones and the U-verse voice network.

The price break also applies to AT&T wireless customers in Mexico. They won’t be charged for calls or text messages to the United States through Nov. 5, 2015.
