The All Inclusive Collection in Mexico is hoping for approval that would allow the Hard Rock Hotel to open a Hard Rock Casino in Cancun and the Riviera Maya.

Enrique Martin del Campo, vice president of business development at All Inclusive Collection in Mexico, said the group would enter the Hard Rock play casino, “once the Senate approves the new Law of Gaming. Then the group would analyze it to install casinos in their hotels in Mexico, since the hotel already has a casino in Punta Cana,” he said.

“When the law is approved and all the rules are perfectly specified, the group will assess the installation of casinos in the hotels of Mexico, because the Hard Rock is very strict in following the rules and adhere to the letter,” he said.

Martin del Campo explained that Hard Rock Casino in the United States and Punta Cana already offer Las Vegas-style casinos in their establishments. When the laws are sorted out for Mexico, the Hard Rock would follow the same concept for its Mexican Caribbean or some other property in the country, “but we need all the legal basis to ensure we are doing everything according to the law,” he said.

Casino and gaming laws have been under evaluation in Mexico for years, however, many officials are pushing for changes and the adoption of the new Law of Gaming by the Senate. There are plans to develop so-called preferred areas that include the Riviera Maya, Los Cabos, Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Penasco. These preferred areas, which are high tourist spots, are approved by the Ministry of Tourism.
