The legal status of Nestora Salgado García, a community advocate and leader of the Regional Coordinator of Community Authorities-Communal Police (CRAC-PC) in the municipality of Olinalá, Mountain region of Guerrero, was complicated after a [Guerrero] State Criminal Court Judge recently issued a new arrest warrant against her, reported sources in the Judiciary.

In total there are three outstanding arrest warrants against Salgado García that have not yet been served.

This delay by the Guerrero investigative police [in Public Prosecutor's Office and under its direction] could lead to a scenario where, if acquitted of the charges for which she is now imprisoned, police officers could serve the pending arrest warrants such that Nestora Salgado could not leave Tepepan Prison in Xochimilco [Mexico City].

To date, legal proceedings in three cases of aggravated kidnapping are ongoing against the former leader of Olinalá Community Police, but the Public Prosecutor as not yet served an equal number of [pending] arrest warrants, according to court documents.
