Mexico's Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) has presented the results of the third survey of consumption patterns and experience of telecommunications users. Among mobile telephony users polled, 36 percent had problems with the service, 12 percent had billing problems and 11 percent had doubts regarding the contracted service. Only 13 percent filed a complaint. Among pre-paid users, the most frequent top-ups cost between MXN 50 and MXN 100, while the majority of post-paid users spend around MXN 400 per month.
More than 40 percent of users polled have internet service in a package with fixed telephony. One in four fixed telephony users makes use of the service daily, while only 20 percent make international calls. Among pay-TV users, only 10 percent have contracted services such as Netflix, Itunes, Click, Claro Video, Veo or Total Movie. Also, 61 percent of pay-TV users have the service via a satellite/DTH operator.
