Iraq and Iran two countries are key to the future of Europe as between them. They hold about one third of the world’s oil and evidently everybody is interested. As of today, Saudi oil has to get through the Suez Canal in order to reach Europe: Iran, Syria and Iraq could build an oil duct and deliver the oil directly in the Mediterranean Sea. That is the exact name of the game!

Un peu d’histoire, as the French say: The world’s civilization started basically in three sites: Mesopotamia, Sumeria and Egypt. The site is key as it is the cross roads between East and West. Likewise this area has concentrated the three monotheist religions: Christianism, Judaism and Islam. This last one arrives to receive the two previous ones: Adam, Moises and Jesus Christ are considered Islamic prophets.

So, this is the background, the area has been under great empires, in historical order, the Persians, Greeks, the Romans and at the collapse of this last one only part that survives permits the Islam to build up its empire. With the Crusades, Europeans and Christians try to recuperate the area. The last ones to arrive from Asia are the Turkish together with the Genghis Kan. They conquer the whole area and build up the Ottoman Empire which reigns until the First World War (WWI): that is to say some 600 years. At the end of WWI some countries “are invented” like Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Palestine and Jordan and for the first time we find Syria appear in a map.

The French and the British were not able to conquer the Ottoman Empire alone but they could only recover the area with the help of local people. So they promised “The Great Arabia”, a country for everybody. In 1916 under a top secret agreement (Accord Sykes Picot) they underlined this big impossible lie. It is important to stress that the Arabs are people, not religions. They can be Muslims, Christians or Jewish. So in order to “create” The Great Arabia they used the Latin principle “divide et vince” creating various small countries all of them under their absolute control. During this period the Western powers did whatever they wanted in the area: do not forget that there is (still) a lot of oil. Also do not forget that Syria has direct access to the Mediterranean and was “kept” under France’s ruling.

After WWII the Europeans abandon the area and France is kicked out of Syria. But before leaving they generate a problem: Inventing a country by the name of Israel which is not recognized nor respected by its neighbors. Curiously, nobody talks about oil in Israel, but oil does not recognize political borders… and Israel becomes the one to attack. The area belonged to Palestine. Palestinians have been killed, kicked out of their own land and in disrespect with the politics in the area. Israel is supported by the US. As far as Syria, it suffers a number of state coups evolving to reinitiate the old dream of a unique Arab Nation with socialist ideas and mostly secular. This new ideology is known as the Baaz. Surprisingly and responding to local practices, Syria allies itself with Egypt. These two countries which do not share borders yet the Lebanese, also under French “guidance” can’t get along at all with them at all. Bashar Al Assad, father of the current president of Syria, becomes the head of state of Baaz. In Iraq, Baaz gains force with Saddam Hussein. Of course, both of them want to take over Baaz and at the very same time, it happens that the Cold War divides the world in two. The US and the USSR and the political current also hits the area. Syria invades Lebanon (which accentuates even further their historical disagreements) and continuous differences come up in the area against Israel.

In this turmoil: What happens in Syria? The population distribution is about the following figures: Out of the Muslim population, less than 13% are Shiite, 70% is Sunni and there are some 10% Christians plus a statistical error. The government is basically Shiite. Assad’s father passes away in 2,000 and Assad’s son takes over: he brings in Internet and promises of change. Opposition appears in the political arena and then the “Muslim Brothers” come out in the light. Their claim is against Bashar Al Assad: the youngster attacked the Sunnis and imprisoned and tortured a great deal of them. So the Muslim Brothers are definitely against Bashar Al Assad in an internal declared war. What else do they want? Of course the “oil power” within the region: have you ever seen an oil company lose money? Not in a life time, or two lifetimes o three or even under a Mexican administration. On the other fronts, Bashar has to face political opposition (being a totalitarian state…) and George Bush’s declaration of “war” including Syria in: “The Axis of Evil” which isolates Syria from the world… just like the US drowned Cuba for some 40 years… on the grounds of freedom… or shall we call it... envy?

Let’s pass: on 2011 the “Arab spring” is a current which asks for more democracy: you can see that despite political splitting, the Arabs have common traits. So when the Arab Spring arrives into Syria, Bashar throws down the Syrian army and kills almost everybody. This escalates the “disagreement” into a civil war yet precise timing does not exist. Nevertheless the civil war kills thousands (I would advance at least a million based on statistical standard deviation… but that is MY opinion). Now what? Out of a relatively peaceful country, Western powers awakened something that did not exist before: divisions within and between the population: add some salt and pepper like the Kurds the Christians and you name it: let us summarize the overall situation:

Everybody wants Syria. Strategically it is a big big (super big) buck situation. Not a “good business” but simply holds in its hands the future of Europe: if the size of the moving money can enter your mind: simply thousands of trillions of dollars and everybody wants to be in the game. If you simply take into account HALF of what I am describing… you and your children and grandchildren and grand grand children could live out of doing nothing for the rest of their lives…. So Bashar Al Assad does not want to lose the game an entered with all his money into the Civil War. Who cares for Sunnis, for Chites and Persians and Iraqis and you name it: we are talking big big money (but big big) and if murder is necessary… Bashar will make it indispensable. If he kills Kurds or Christians or whatever… he will and he has done it!!!

So, let’s sum up:

Everybody wants to take over Syria.

Borders were imposed upon Syria since some hundred years ago on France’s and British will.
In the meanwhile public opinion talk about democracy (which is very much in fashion) but nobody can do anything about it.

DAESH (ISIS in English) also wants also its part from it. Again, big big bucks.

Now, if you follow what France has done in the Middle East you will understand what the (terrorist) future lays ahead for France. Likewise for the Brits. The word is called “Revenge” and it is seasoned with salt and pepper. So far, Mexico has been pointed out as an enemy by ISIS/DAESH: sooner more than later we will be included in this problem. DAESH wants to rule the world and they might just make it… just like the Christians or the Jews have done. Muslims want their share and they want it today… whatever share might mean.

And last but certainly not least: Why Germany? Just think that Germany has been the only country in the world which opposed openly a religion. Throughout the world’s history countries have been fought left right and center… cleaning of races and land takeovers, but a Religion proper… only Germany. A dictatorship by Hitler which killed a lot of Jews: Germany has been the only country in the whole history of mankind to attach itself to one of the three monoteistic religions in the world. In today’s tragic comedy: isn’t this the alliance that the Middle East is seeking in the middle of Europe? Just think!
