Broken lives of immigrants deported from US to Mexico (BBC News)

Most Mexicans deported by US were charged of various crimes in what it is considered here a policy to criminalize immigration.

47 percent of Mexicans returned were labeled criminals and accused of violating immigration laws, traffic rules, for drug possession, assault, robbery and sexual offenses, among others.

The research concludes that there is a 'tendency to criminalize arrested migrants and send them back to their country under threat of more serious penalties in case of repeating it.'

However, 35 percent of the deportees declared their intention to try to cross to United States again, which proportion rises to 49 percent among those who left spouses and children on the other side of the border.
