Regulators Warn Mexicans of Health Dangers Posed by 55 Sexual Potency Products EFE

Consumers should be careful not to use 55 sexual potency products that are being sold in Mexico and pose health dangers, the Federal Commission for Health Risks Oversight, or Cofepris, said.

The products contain a number of ingredients, such as sildenafil, that are not listed on the label, the federal agency said in a statement.

These "ingredients can endanger the public's health since they interact with nitrates prescribed in some medications, such as nitroglycerine, and can lower blood pressure to levels that endanger health," the Cofepris, a Health Secretariat agency said.

The products can be especially harmful for men with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and heart disease who take nitrates for their conditions, the federal agency said.
