Mexico's peso weakened 1.52 percent to a historic low of 18.1420 pesos per dollar on Friday morning, amid a drop in international oil prices.
The Mexican peso slid 16.8 percent in 2015, the biggest annual drop since a 25 percent slump in 2008.
