It’s a goal that has earned a spot on many bucket lists.
The dream of being in two places at once isn’t limited to adventurers, though a team of divers have added some depth to the experience.
Heleen Graauw of Wethorse Productions donned her camera and wetsuit and dove with her team at Iceland’s Silfra Tectonic Fissure, a legendary freshwater rift that places divers within touching distance of two continents at the same time.
The deep rift where two colossal tectonic plates continue to slowly drift causes an earthquake every ten years, all while creating the illusion that “earth is ripping apart. Graauw mentions that though she was within touching distance of two continents, divers are encouraged not to touch the rocks because they move.
”It’s an amazing place, one of the best places I have ever been diving,” Graauw said of her experience on the dive.
