One of Mexico's largest informal labor sectors is that of home or domestic workers, which amounts to nearly 3.5 million people and 95% are women. This sector is considered to be almost invisible in terms of its rights being guaranteed and protected.
However one civil organization has struggled for years to finally win a legal victory that has now granted this sector a formal labor union, an unprecedented reality for Mexico.
