By instructions of Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto it was agreed to send a delegation to Ecuador, to assist in the tasks of searching and rescuing victims caused by the earthquake that hit that country on Saturday.
The Secretariat of the Interior (SEGOB), through the National Coordination of Civil Protection and the secretariat of Foreign Affairs (SRE) coordinated the move.
This Mexican mission will be mobilized in the coming hours to the South American country, according to a joint statement of the two secretariats.
According to the assessment and operational needs of search and rescue, it was determined to form the delegation with staff of the National Coordination of Civil Protection of the SEGOB and the Federal Police, says the text.
In addition, the secretaries of National Defense and the Navy, the State Unit of Civil Protection and Fire Department of Jalisco state, the Municipal Coordination of Civil Protection and Fire Department of Zapopan and the Mexican Red Cross will also be part of the team.
