The three Île-Perrot kayakers who left home over a year ago have finally made it to Mexico. When they got there, a group of military personnel, journalists and well-wishers had gathered to greet them.
"It was a magical moment," Nuka De Jocas-McCrae told CBC Montreal's Daybreak. "It was a lot of accomplishments in one moment."
De Jocas-McCrae said word of their trip spread quickly through the community and they were welcomed like family. The kayakers expect to reach their final destination of Rio Largartos, Yucatan, by early September.
... De Jocas-McCrae has been making the journey with Luc Labelle and Julien Granger. They are raising money on kickstarter to turn the adventure into a movie.
