Triplings' parents David and Nicky Beard have told their story to Australia's 60 Minutes. (60 Minutes)

The Kiwi parents of three IVF babies, born to surrogate mothers in Mexico, have given a tell-all interview to 60 Minutes Australia - revealing more about what happened to the family.

David and Nicky Beard claimed they were trapped in the country after racking up tens of thousands of dollars of debt for the births of the three children.

They'd paid two different surrogates who gave birth to a single baby, Lachlan, and twins Kelly and Blake in February this year.

David and Nicky Beard spent several months in Mexico, waiting to bring their three IVF babies home.

But David told the 60 Minutes program he'd "never wanted" to go to Mexico to have children, and that problems began during the pregnancies.
