Mexico protests: Teachers vow to fight reforms (Al Jazeera English)
Members of the National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNTE, in Spanish) have continued their protest in different parts of the country and will today march in Mexico City to demonstrate against the government's education reform.
The protest will depart from the central monument to the Angel of Independence - on the avenue Paseo de la Reforma - to the Zocalo, located in the heart of the historic center of the city.
Section 9 of the national union of education workers, based in the capital, also announced today an indefinite labor stop, thus joining the national strike in a demand for negotiations with the Ministry of the Interior (Segob, in Spanish) and a repeal of the reform plans.
Tomorrow, a parade will leave from a park in the Mexican capital towards Nochixtlán, in the state of Oaxaca.
On Thursday and Friday there will be protests in several states, while on Saturday the Representative National Assembly will meet again.
