“Americas Now” had the privilege of stepping on board the deck of a tall ship from Mexico recently. The ship is named “Cuauhtemoc.”
The vessel and its Mexican “marineros” were visiting the Washington area after embarking from Acapulco on a worldwide mission of friendship. Previous to the United States, the Navy docked in Cuba.
Our visit took place at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor on a particularly blustery day. It made for a spectacular sight as the ship’s flags were waving majestically.
We spoke to both captains and cadets while on “Cuauhtemoc” and were impressed with their courteousness, kindness and their haircuts too. Turns out they have their own barber on board!
Check out these images of Mexico’s magnificent ship and an interview with the gallant Captain Jose Fernando Meixueiro de los Santos.
We invite you to add your charity or supporting organizations' news stories and coming events to PVAngels so we can share them with the world. Do it now!
