CONCACAF’s marquee matchup is heading back to Columbus, Ohio (U.S. Soccer)

U.S. Soccer announced on Monday that their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Mexico will be held at MAPFRE Stadium on November 11th. The match will be the fifth World Cup qualifier between the two nations held in Columbus, the Americans winning each of the previous four matchups by the score of 2-0.

The USMNT last defeated Mexico in Columbus in 2013 with goals from Eddie Johnson and Landon Donovan. "It means a lot to us to play Mexico in Columbus," said U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann in a statement. "Columbus is for us what Azteca Stadium is for them. It's a game where emotions will go through the roof, and we need to have our crowd behind us bringing their voice against our biggest rival. We know they will. Columbus will rock."

The World Cup qualifier will be shown live on FS1. Tickets for the matchup will be distributed through a lottery process which can be accessed on U.S. Soccer’s website.
