The BPM Festival: Dancing In Paradise (Mixmag)

The BPM Festival 10th Anniversary launch this weekend commemorates the festival’s decade long rise to prominence and influential stature within the global festival circuit.

Since 2007, BPM Festival in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, has slowly built itself into one of the world's most talked about destinations in the dance music calendar. It's a week of label showcases, artist performances, industry meet-ups, and cultural activities set in tropical Central American paradise. What's not to love?

For its 10th Anniversary edition, BPM is going bigger and bossier than ever with 80 showcases and 460 artists officially confirmed to touch sand Friday, Jan. 6, through Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017. Crew Love, Toolroom, Intec, Anjunadeep and more are packing bags and leaving coats behind. The list of artists is mind-blogging, with sets scheduled from Carl Cox, Pete Tong, Hot Since 82, Green Velvet and basically everyone you might want to see from the underground house and techno worlds. You're better off checking the flyer below for full details, because the list is daunting. Just make sure you grab your spectacles.

One thing worth mentioning in particular, though, is the first edition of The BPM Festival presents Solamente, which aims to bring back the art of the marathon DJ and invites The Martinez Brothers to do their thing from start to finish – totaling more than eight hours – on Wednesday, Jan. 11.
