Cuba has a long jazz tradition and its annual international Jazz Festival attracts musicians from around the world. In recent years, many big name U.S. performers have played in Havana, drawing huge crowds. At this year’s festival, though, one of the biggest attractions was a unique Cuban-African collaboration. Over 130 thousand Mexican tourists visited Cuba during the past 2016, a record number, the Embassador Pedro Núñez Mosquera stated at the recent presentation of Cuban tourist offers for visitors.
The Cuban diplomat to Mexico, mentioned that the 30 percent of Mexicans arriving in Cuba was aimed at participating in different cultural, educational, sports events, among others.
There are more than 300 congresses, forums, festivals, seminars, among other modalities, in which Cuba will host throughout 2017, stated Xiomara Martinez, head of the tourist office for the Cuban embassy.
He emphasized that his country received about four million visitors in 2016, with a 24.5 percent growth over the previous year.
In addition to its natural advantages, history, climate, safety and other advantages, Cuba boast 10 international airports, more than 65 thousand rooms and 17,400 hostels, plus a great deal of restaurants (well-known as paladares). See the original at Prensa Latina
