Today, two all-inclusive Hard Rock Hotels debuted in Mexico, becoming the country's first brush with the hotel brand.

The former Cancun Palace and the Vallarta Palace in the Riviera Nayarit section of Puerto Vallarta were re-flagged under the new brand name Hard Rock Hotel Cancun and Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta. We first mentioned the projected August 1st turnover last month and we're happy to report that things are right on schedule, including a big grand opening party August 24-26 at Vallarta and October 18-20 in Cancun.

We're told some brassy bold name artists have been confirmed to play the gigs, but legally the names can't be released just yet, so stay tuned!

Though the former resorts' in-room double hot tubs, mini-bars, and 24-hour room service will remain intact, there will be a brand-new Hard Rock touch around the property. Music memorabilia will be on display everywhere, and live concerts will be held from many of those whose images grace the resort's walls.

New to the properties is a Brazilian steakhouse, which will join the other four restaurants, five bars and lounges as well as the Sound of Your Stay program where guests are given a code to download one of three 15-song playlists or even a and have one of the hotel's Fender guitars delivered to their room, along with a headphone amp and SOUL by Ludacris headphones, and see if they've got any musical chops (we're hoping the rooms are soundproof!).

Each resort will have one Rock Star Suite like the one pictured here at the Punta Cana property. It's an over-the-top, four-bedroom number that comes with full kitchen, butler service, and bells-and-whistles (we’re talking full-size private pool, wet bar) that’s befitting - well, a rock star!

Rates for the Rock Star Suite begin at $10K per night in Punta Cana (they won't be available in Cancun until 2013 and we're certain they'll cost a lot more), but until then, you'll have to make do with regular all-inclusive rooms priced at a more wallet-loving $171 per night, per person.

These two resorts are the second and third hotels in the Hard Rock's all-inclusive chain. The first, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana, opened in the Dominican Republic last year. The fourth, will open early 2013 in the Riviera Maya region.
