In the final FIFA ranking of 2012, Mexico sits comfortably in the no.15 spot; the top position for a CONCACAF team. What will be surprising to Mexico fans is that their team currently ranks three positions ahead of five-time world champion Brazil.

The biggest surprise of this month’s ranking is Colombia’s rise to the no. 5 position. Last month the cafeteros sat in no. 8. Now they move ahead of superpowers England and Portugal.

Spain continues as the top team in the ranking with Germany and Argentina following in the numbers two and three respectively. The United States sits in no. 28 and is the second top team in the CONCACAF region. The other CONCACAF team in the top 50 is Haiti at no. 39.
