There are 925 million undernourished people in the world today. You can help by stepping in and contributing to the fight against hunger in America and abroad.
Here are five ways to help:
Every answer you get right while playing the online game Free Rice results in 10 grains of rice being donated to people in need through the World Food Programme.
Does hunger make you mad as hell? Sign a petition and let officials know it is unacceptable that close to one billion people are chronically hungry. Through the United Nations, you can call upon governments to make the elimination of hunger their top priority.
People in every country across the globe are going to bed hungry and currently in the Horn of Africa, severe drought has put millions at risk of starvation. Make a donation to CARE to help send food to Somalia, Kenya and many other countries fighting malnutrition.
Help Share Our Strength ensure that no child in America goes hungry by adding your voice to the national movement of people committed to ending childhood hunger in America by 2015.
Sign this petition to call on governments to stabilize the food markets. Urge them to agree to rules for transparency and responsibility, stop excessive speculation and other abuses, reform flawed policies turning grain into biofuels, and increase investment in food security and climate adaptation in developing countries.
We invite you to add your charity or supporting organizations' news stories and coming events to PVAngels so we can share them with the world. Do it now!
