The 2013 Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour starts with a bang in Mexico City on March 8, find out what's going down as Levi Sherwood gets set to defend his title at the Monumental Plaza de Toros.

New Zealand's Sherwood is revving up for a return to the bullring where he won his first FMX event back in 2009: the World Tour champ will be looking for more glory when Red Bull X-Fighters returns in front of 38,000 fans this Friday.

Frenchman Thomas Pagés is also ready to hit the dirt after grabbing a close second to Sherwood in 2012, while 2011 champion Dany Torres is looking to storm the bullring after the Spaniard finished third last season.

Torres has hit the Mexican capital five times before for Red Bull X-Fighters, which hosted the series for six straight years from 2005 to 2010.

They’ll be taking on Aussie riders Josh Sheehan and Rob Adelberg, American Todd Potter, and Spain’s Maikel Melero, who are all looking to land on the podium in Mexico - and don’t rule out local hero Erick Ruiz either.

In tribute to invited rider Eigo Sato (1978-2013) 11 riders will participate in Mexico City. Sato sustained fatal injuries on Thursday, February 28 while practising in Japan.
