About three months ago, at the National Palace, I pledged to exercise effective governance with concrete results. Today, once again, in the same place, I held myself accountable to Mexican society for my first hundred days in office.
As President of Mexico, I took up the challenge, not only to administer our country, but also to change it. We are here to move to Mexico towards the great future that awaits it. During these hundred days, every action undertaken has responded to this objective.
The government has a clear vision and a sense of the country it wants. There are five major national goals to which we aspire: achieve a Mexico in Peace; have an inclusive Mexico; attain a Mexico with quality education for all, build a Prosperous Mexico and make Mexico a Responsible Global Actor.
It is possible to construct a modern, audacious country and to transform Mexico. Mexicans have the energy, ability, passion and talent to move to Mexico and head towards the great future that awaits us.
Mexico will grow, the intensity of this beginning will not be temporary; it will be the pace of work that this government will maintain. It is time to work in unity, with a positive, proactive spirit, to project Mexico as the power it can and deserves to be.
