Connect2Compete offers like-new computers to families who need a PC but aren't sure they can afford it. If your child receives free lunch through the National School Lunch Program, you may be eligible for this affordable computer offer. (GoodPcDotcom)
Following last year’s announcement to support Connect2Compete‘s efforts to extend broadband access to 100 million “Offline” Americans, earlier this month, the Carlos Slim Foundation joined in launching the national “EveryoneOn,” public awareness campaign designed to help all Americans access free digital literacy training in their communities. Additionally, Connect2Compete will offer unconnected families access to programs providing discounted high-speed Internet and low-cost computers.
“Connect2Compete’s efforts are helping close the disproportionate divide that exists amongst Hispanic and minority households in America. Almost half of the “offline” population in the United States is Latino,” Carlos Slim Domit, the eldest son of Carlos Slim Helú, said.
“We are pleased to bring our experience in Latin America to the work of connecting Latino families in the United States. Connectivity helps us achieve better education, create jobs, promote development and increase access to health care. Issues that cross international borders."
Americans can visit Connect2Compete.org to access the programs.
