Making of Absolut Mexico, a Dr Lakra collaboration (thewomanmx)

Absolut Vodka has partnered with contemporary artist and tattooist Dr Lakra for its latest limited edition release, Absolut Mexico.

Also known as Jeronimo Lpoez Ramirez, Dr Lakra is best known for tattooing existing images of 1950s Mexican pin-up girls and wrestlers.

Absolut commissioned the Oaxaca, Mexico-based artist to create three unique, modern bottle designs celebrating ‘the spirit of Mexico’ for the latest in its line of limited edition collaborations with renowned artists.

The three designs include icons from ancient Mayan culture – Hurakan (hurricane), Kulkulkan (serpent) and Balam (jaguar), all of which are depicted in bright colours of orange, green, blue and yellow.

Each design has also been created as collectors art pieces, as well as for the limited line of Absolut bottles.
