According to the Law of Awards, Incentives and Civil Rewards, the Order of the Aztec Eagle is the honor given to foreigners in order to recognize the prominent services rendered to the Mexican nation or mankind, and to correspond to the distinctions awarded to Mexican public servants.

The Mexican government conferred the Mexican Order of the Aztec Eagle on Japanese citizens, Takashi Yamanouchi, Sadako Ogata and Hirofumi Nakasone. This award is a symbol of the origin, identity and strength of our nation.

The agreement whereby the Order of the Aztec Eagle was awarded was signed in the Official Gazette on April 5 this year.
