After settling for draws in their opening three matches, Mexico grabbed their first win of the final hexagonal beating Jamaica 1-0 on Tuesday night. Aldo de Nigris headed in the game’s only goal in the 48th minute.
The first half was uneventful for both sides and neither could be happy with or complain about the 0-0 scoreline. The best chance of the half came from Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez. The Manchester United forward forced Reggae Boyz Donovan Rickets to make a fingertip saved to push the ball wide of the post.
The goal was set up by Carlos Salcido. Salcido found space to center the ball and de Nigris found space between the Jamaican backline to finish.
