Bongos Cuban Cafe Miami 5th Annual Feed A Friend Thanksgiving Event (Bongos CubanCafe)
Singer Gloria Estefan and her husband, producer Emilio Estefan, once again offered a beneficent Thanksgiving dinner at their Bongos Cuban Cafe that was attended by about 1,000 mostly homeless people.
“It’s a privilege. It makes me very happy because we know we’re sharing with families who would otherwise have no chance to celebrate or have such a beautiful day,” Gloria Estafan said Thursday upon her arrival at the celebrity couple’s Miami restaurant.
Flocking into the establishment were many poor people delighted to enjoy a menu featuring the roast turkey so essential to this American holiday, along with some classic Cuban dishes including roast suckling pig and fried plantain.
Gloria Estefan did not hide her emotion when talking about this day called “Feed a Friend,” which she describes as her “favorite event of the year.”
