Grand Luxxe Invitational Golf Tournament Has Smashing Debut in Nuevo Vallarta PR Web

“Wonderful!” “Spectacular!” “Outstanding!” And those are just a sampling of the reviews from the first Grand Luxxe Member Invitational played last month at the picturesque Nayar Golf Course on the sprawling Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta resort.

The three-day tournament, created and coordinated by Vidanta Director of Golf Jesus Torres, drew participants from the United States, Canada, Chile and Mexico and featured an array of dazzling prizes and a million dollar hole-in-one contest.

No one cashed in on the million dollars, but the four closest-to-the hole winners were all compensated nicely with luxury timepieces. Andrew Usher took home a Tag Heuer watch for being closest to the pin on the 12th hole, Tomas Jewell won a Montblanc on the 10th hole, Terry Willinston walked away with a Cartier on the 5th hole and Rodrigo del Corral scored a Rolex for his pinpoint accuracy at the 3rd hole. Other fabulous prizes included TaylorMade woods, MacBook Pro computers and iPad minis.

"This was the most significant golf tournament that Grupo Vidanta hosts for its national and international members and we couldn’t be more pleased with how it turned out,” Torres said. “Because of the overwhelming positive feedback from Vidanta members, we’ve already committed to a second Grand Luxxe Member Invitational.”

The par-70 Nayar course, originally designed by Jim Lipe 11 years ago, reopened in 2011 after a four-year renovation project by Jack Nicklaus Designs. The tournament’s winning scores of 108 were posted by the Aharonov team, which won by 11 shots of the team of Beas and Willinston.
 
The event kicked off with an inauguration ceremony at the stunning new Santuario entertainment complex, located in the center of the Vida Vacations resort across from the Grand Bliss. The awards ceremony was held at Gong, a charming Asian-fusion restaurant next to the pro shop.
