Just when you thought it couldn't get any hotter this summer, Puerto Vallarta's first-responders have added fire to the flames with the soon-to-be-released official 2014 Heroes Calendar featuring the Department's finest.
And, like the benevolent firefighters they are, 100% of the proceeds from the calendar sales go directly to support the latest training programs that help firefighters and lifeguards overcome the modern challenges they face and to support community education such as Fire Safe Kids.
Fire Safe Kids is a FREE summer educational program offered to children ages 8 to 16 and presented, now in its fifth year, by the Puerto Vallarta Fire Department and Civil Protection.
Safe Kids is a dynamic hands-on program that teaches youngsters important fire prevention and water safety skills. Participating students are learning positive fire safety behaviors that will extend into adulthood.
Fire safety behaviors learned through the curriculum have already been attributed to saving lives. Over 1,000 students have attended the fast-moving and informative program since its inception.
