Despite the holidays, the remodeling of the Plaza de Bucerias continues to advance, but inevitably affects the businesses and restaurants that are located on the sides of the Town Square.
Miguel Angel Mateos, restaurant owner of "Miguel Angel," said that he has been severely affected by the work because when his potential customers arrive and see the work being done, they don't attempt to cross the construction site to enter his restaurant. He continues to promote his restaurant and invite customers to dine in his establishment.
However, he expressed confidence in the scheduled ending time, since the works are progressing in its second week and the workers continue to work into the night.
Juan Antonio Macías, the owner of the "Mariscos El Veneno" said that even though his business abruptly dropped due to the construction, that it will be a benefit to all in the future, so "we must seize the opportunity and take it well."
He added that the works are "going well" but the businesses around the square have definitely lost revenue temporarily.
Tourists are informed that Bucerias is still open for business even though the parking situation is not the best right now.
It is planned that by next week they will start putting the stamped concrete in place and continue to complete the work on the new and improved Plaza in Bucerias.
