We invite you to participate in the 1st Whale Festival (Festival Ballenarte) in Vallarta-Nayarit on January 8-11, 2014.

The numbers on the map above correspond to locations noted on the detailed schedule of the activities and discounts available during the Whale Festival.

Wednesday, January 8
• 5:30 pm - Authorized Whale Watching Boat Parade and Grand Opening at Los Muertos Pier sponsored by Ecotours de Mexico and Zaragoza Marine(1).
• 6:30 pm - Whale Watching tour operators awards for best performing and navigational practices involved in the conservation and protection of the humpback whale.(1).
• Exhibition of the work of art Human Blue Whale by renowned photographer Patricio Robles Gil at the Juarez parking lot (2).
• Dinner with a Cause will be celebrated at Nu Global Tapas Bar in Old Town Vallarta and also at Cafe des Artistes in Downtown Vallarta (3).

Thursday, January 9
• 20% Ballenarte Discount on morning whale watching tours (11).
6:30 pm - The Humpback Whale and projects in Banderas Bay Conference by David Alfaro Siqueiros at Las Glorias Hotel in the Hotel Zone of Puerto Vallarta (4).
6:30 pm - Screening of the documentary Oasis Marino about the Sea of Cortes at Jardin del Pulpo in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Coral 66 (5).
7:30 pm - Whale photo and art exhibit with introduction by Dr. Juan Luis Cifuentes Lemus and led by Astrid Frisch Jordan at Secrets Hotel,  sponsored by Timon Tours(4).
• Dinner with a Cause will be celebrated at Nu Global Tapas Bar in Old Town Vallarta and also at Cafe des Artistes in Downtown Vallarta (3).

Friday, January 10
• 20% Ballenarte Discount on morning whale watching tours (11).
6:30 pm - Screening of the documentary Oasis Marino about the Sea of Cortes with introduction by Dr. Luis Medrano, Director of the Marine Mammal Program of UNAM, at the Mantamar Beach Club, Malecon 169 in Old Town Vallarta (6).
6:30 pm - The Humpback Whale Conference by Biol. by Roberto Moncada from the ITBB Marine Mammal Research Group at Los Arroyos Verdes in Bucerias, Av. Estaciones #1099, Col. Oriente (7).
• Dinner with a Cause will be celebrated at Nu Global Tapas Bar in Old Town Vallarta and also at Cafe des Artistes in Downtown Vallarta (3).

Saturday, January 11
8:00 am - Bicycle rally for kids at the main entrance of Marina Vallarta by the whale sculpture, sponsored by Golozo's Bike (8).
11:00 am - Race finale where the kids will make an actual size whale with their bodies and a photo of the human whale will be taken from the Marina Vallarta Lighthouse (9).
7:00 pm - Mexican Fiesta Charity Dinner at Lazaro Cardenas Park in Old Town Vallarta. Price per person is 200 pesos, not including beverages, sponsored by Asociation Vallarta Centro (10).
8:30 pm - Raffle with great prizes followed by closing festivities by conservation supporters.
