The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, in conjunction with DINE, the developer of Punta Mita Resorts, and Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau are pleased to announce the fourth annual American Express Punta Mita Gourmet & Golf Classic, sponsored by Aeromexico and Delta Airlines, taking place April 3-6, 2014.

During this unparalleled four-day extravaganza, Punta Mita, in the Riviera Nayarit, will once again be transformed into a culinary and golf mecca as esteemed chefs, wine experts, and epicurean personalities congregate to showcase their exceptional talents while guests compete on the property’s prestigious Jack Nicklaus golf courses.

The 2013 Gourmet & Golf Classic was the most successful event to date, drawing more than 400 guests, raising more than $50,000 for Hall of Famer Mexican former No. 1 golfer Lorena Ochoa’s foundation, and welcoming internationally acclaimed chefs from Michael Mina of the Mina Group to Andrew Kirschner of Tar & Roses in Los Angeles.

Building upon that success, The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort and Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita will welcome an impressive roster of culinary talent for the 2014 Gourmet & Golf Classic. Hosted by the executive chefs of both hotels, Sylvain Desbois and Philippe Piel, other notable chef participants include Mexico’s celebrated chef Antonio de Livier; pastry chef Mickael Fournier of The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort; Top Chef Masters winner and restaurateur Floyd Cardoz; Chef Pedro Ortega of Grupo Estoril in Mexico; Michelin-starred Montse Estruch; Chef Jesus Gibaja, Chef and Owner of Mexico’s Gibaja Gastronomy in Concept; Chef Diane Dimeo of Deli&Vine; acclaimed Mexican chef Richard Sandoval of Richard Sandoval Restaurants; Claudia Fossa of Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills; Abraham Salum, chef and owner of Salum Restaurant in Dallas; José Salas, Héctor Leyva and Ramón Bramasco of Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita; Fernando Trocca of Sucre Restaurant; Australian chef Andrew Ormsby; Thierry Blouet, chef and owner of Café des Artistes in Puerto Vallarta and Punta de Mita; Michelin-starred Chef Betty Vázquez and Akmal Anuar, chef de cuisine at Zengo by Richard Sandoval in Dubai, considered one of the nation’s top 10 palates by the American Sommelier Association.

Special guests include wine specialist Hans Joseph Backhoff; acclaimed Sommelier Charlie Arturaola; talented Brewmaster Jesús Briseño; Tequila Expert Alfredo Sanchez of Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita; and Daniel Milmo, owner of the Casa Madero. With many prominent chefs, wine specialists, and tequila masters, the American Express IV Punta Mita Gourmet & Golf Classic is sure to be an elegant celebration that joins together the best of the food and wine worlds, catering to even the most discerning palates.

For golf-minded guests, the Gourmet & Golf Classic will also feature The Punta Mita Cup, a two-day golf tournament played on Jack Nicklaus’ two signature courses, Bahia and Pacifico. Acclaimed Mexican golfer Lorena Ochoa will be participating once again in the weekend’s events, and participants will have the opportunity to win a variety of exciting prizes. Additionally, 2002 PGA champion Richard Beem will join the event for the first time this year and will offer a unique Beat the Champ Challenge to all golfers on the famed Tail of the Whale hole.
