Following is just an overview of all the events and festivities happening this week in Vallarta-Nayarit.

Condos, Casas & Cocktails at Garbo - Monday

Buying a new home or navigating through the steps needed to obtain a mortgage can be a daunting task in the US or Canada, let alone in a foreign country.

You have questions? This is your chance to have the ear of Vallarta's industry leaders in a no-pressure, relaxed atmosphere.

Combining their decades of experience, Tropicasa Realty and MEXLend Mortgages have come together for the 5th year to make the process an easy one.

Condos, Casas & Cocktails, a free bi-monthly event at Garbo, is co-sponsored by Tropicasa Realty and MEXLend Mortgages and will be held through April.

On the first and third Monday of every month starting at 5:30 pm, Tropicasa and MEXLend will host a 1 hour informal conversation and Q&A about purchasing and financing a home in Mexico.

Sunset Soiree Benefit for Girls Shelter - Tuesday

As this season winds down, Georgia and Gholi Darehshori have decided to open Casa Karma to sponsor a season finale for Corazon de Niñas, a home for young girls who have been displaced due to high risk situations.

The goal of Corazon de Niñas is to help the girls grow with security, love, values and education in order to become healthy, strong and independent women and thus change the cycle that would otherwise likely repeat itself with their children.

Mark your calendar for Tuesday, April 8, at 7:00 pm for an evening at the beautiful Casa Karma featuring artwork by Marta Gilbert, live music by Edoardo Leon and canapes by Marvi Graf, Arte Culanario.

Fandango at Teatro Vallarta - Wednesday

Beginning on April 9, Fandango will return to the Teatro Vallarta stage for Wednesday evening performances through May of 2014.

The amazing stage show Fandango brings together theater, dance and music in an international Mexican format with more than 40 dancers and musicians.

Fandango is an emotional show that fills us with pride for all of Mexico and it was created here in the state of Jalisco.

The Wednesday evening performances begin at 6:30 pm. Show dates are April 9, 16, 23, 30 and May 7, 14, 21, 28.

Open Air Market in La Penita - Thursday

The Tianguis (open-air market) is held every Thursday from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm around the La Peñita Plaza.

It is "the" place to shop for silver and handmade jewelry, tablecloths and linens, glassware, Talavera plates, Huichol Indian artwork and Oaxacan rugs. You will also find fresh fruits and veggies, homemade breads, and locally-produced honey and coffee beans.

This is one of the largest and most well-known markets in the area. While the Tianguis continues year-round, many of the artisans do not participate during the summer months.

IFC End Of Season Brunch - Sunday

If you have never had the pleasure of a meal there, here is the perfect opportunity. The International Friendship Club (IFC) will host its end of season brunch there on Sunday April 13 at 10:00. Tickets are 200 pesos and help raise funds for charitable giving. Members, guests, and visitors alike are welcome.

There will be door prizes and a raffle. This is always a very festive occasion as the IFC celebrates another successful season. The Casa Fantasia Brunch offers a delightful buffet menu. The starters include choices of a Fresh Seasonal Fruit Salad, Green Salad Vinaigrette, Deviled Eggs, and Apple Salad with Walnuts.

The entrees are your choice of Eggs Benedict, Scrambled Eggs, Chicken Fajitas, Strawberry Blintzes, Arrachera Steak Ranchero served with Bacon, Smoked Ham, Pancakes, and sides of House Potatoes and Bread.
