Celebrate the Bugambilia Festival in Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta Garden Club
April 10, 2014

Puerto Vallarta with all the bougainvillea is looking great thanks to generous donations to pay for the Vallarta Garden Club gardener and to provide us with a truck and necessary equipment to water the plants, a vital task during the dry season. We’ve also had a loyal cadre of weeders helping every week making sure planters and trees look good. A big “thank you” to all!

The Second Annual Bugambilia Festival is just around the corner! And we hope you’ll be able to participate on May 9 - 11, 2014.

The Festival Itself

Get your tickets now for the Friday night Floral Display and Cocktail party and for the Sunday Brunch. (Tickets are 350 pesos per event and are available at Carol's Boutique at the corner of Basilio Badillo and Vallarta, Mail Boxes Etc. at Ignacio L. Vallarta No. 130, and on our website.

The Opening Night Floral Display and Cocktail Party will be at Oscar's Restaurant from 6:00 - 8:00 on Friday night, May 9. You’ll receive the Festival’s signature drink, the “Margavillea”, along with samples from The Council of Raicilla and Dorwart Whiskey, live music and an incredible display of floral arrangements

Mother’s Day Floral Brunch will be on Sunday, May 11, from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at the newly reopened Le Bistro Jazz Cafe. Please join for great food, music and a fashion show. We will also be raffling some amazing gifts.

At Lazaro Cardenas Park

On all three evenings of the Festival, there will be food vendors, local artists and special events.

Friday night, Puerto Vallarta’s mayor and “Miss Bugambilia” will officially open the festival at the "Flower Ribbon Cutting" ceremony. A special show follows.

Saturday night offers a fun filled Mexican Fiesta with folkloric dancers, mariachi bands, face painting and caricature artists.

The Bugambilia Festival Parade goes along the Malecon finishing in Parque Lazaro Cardenas in Old Town Vallarta.  All are invited to join the parade! Sign up online at Bugambilia Festival.

Act II Entertainment will present a show that evening after the parade.

Sunday night is a Pooch Parade, Mexican Chili Dog eating contest and family oriented fun along with a salsa dance performance, live band and dancing until 11:00.

For more information, visit Bugambilias Festival online or visit us on Facebook where we will be posting updates and give you more information. And for those of you who use Twitter, we just started a twitter account @BugambiliaFest.

We hope to see you there helping establish this as an on-going Puerto Vallarta celebration.
