Puerto Vallarta will host the International Festival of Fireworks from December 20 to 31, with participants from four countries: Italy, USA, Canada and Spain; and five Mexican states: Jalisco, Puebla, Zacatecas, Sonora and Mexico State.
As part of the event, multidisciplinary activities, dance, music and painting will be done. The three venues for the fireworks are Los Muertos Pier, Malecon, and the Peninsula.
The musical fireworks and performances will last approximately 20 minutes.
With a budget of more than seven million, the city will be part of the international festival circuit, which Mexico had not been previously involved.
Sergio Zepeda, Director of Holistic Institute of Culture, said the need was raised to the House of Representatives, hoteliers and merchants for an annual, attractive, and culturally sustainable tourism event, which generates jobs and added a plus to the destination during the Christmas holidays. The result was positive because the International Fireworks Festival will promote the worldwide port with support from the Ministry of Tourism; National Council for Culture and the Arts; the Secretariat of Communications and Transportation; Hoteliers Association; and the Municipal Government.
