As part of the 4th of July festivities in Puerto Vallarta's sister city Highland Park, the Delfines Youth Soccer Team traveled to Illinois to compete in a two-day tournament on July 5 & 6, where they won the Championship Trophy.

Other teams participating in the tournament included Deportivo Highland Park, a team formed by the Hispanic community in Highland Park and Highwood; AYSO Highland Park; Lake Forest Select and Chicago Fire Juniors North.

The Highland Park Sister Cities Soccer Tournament was a huge success.

We heard countless comments about the incredible level of soccer played by all of the participating teams. We are so grateful for the support of the Park District of Highland Park, AYSO Highland Park, Mayor Rotering and the City of Highland Park, and all of our generous sponsors.

Members of the Highland Park community were heard to comment about the Delfines, "They were wonderful both on and off the field!" and "Totally agree. Real gentlemen!"

While in Highland Park, our 12-year old youths marched with the Highland Park Sister Cities Foundation in the 4th of July Parade and were treated to city tours.
