ComRel at DIF Senior Home with USCGC BERTHOLF and PV's Navy League Team Angels/Dennis Rike - American Legion Post 14 | |
July 28, 2014 |
Each U.S. Ship and its crew, at their arrival to Puerto Vallarta, with our Navy League members, take part in a communitarian aid social program aimed to promoting a cultural approach between both nations. The American Sailors of each U.S. Ship volunteer their time to local public schools, social assistance Civil Associations, Rehab Institutions and Hospitals; to repair, to maintain and, to install equipment, among others.
The USCGC BERTHOLF is in port. The Navy League is doing a ComRel at the DIF Senior Home in Coapinole. We will be assisting them through our Volunteer Vallarta Program. All members are welcome to attend the ComRel on Tuesday, July 29th at 9:00 am. After, we will go to Murphy’s Irish Pub for food and beer.
BERTHOLF is the lead ship of the National Security Cutter design and the first large ship to be built under the Coast Guard's multi-year Deepwater acquisitions project. The NSCs are to replace the fleet's aging 1960s 378-foot Hamilton-class cutters.
A tour of the Cutter is tentative for Wednesday morning, July 30. You WILL need to make a reservation. E-Mail Dennis Rike your full name and your guest's full name.
